Technical English for Officers

This course book was written for law enforcement officers on B2-C1 level of English. The book embraces eight ESP topics i.e. drug abuse, the prison system and penal institutions, organised crime, serial killers, crime against the person, football hooliganism, death penalty and juvenile delinquency. Each text is thoroughly elaborated by authentic materials written by Hungarian experts as well as teachers of the Faculty of Law Enforcement. The themes comprise not only facts but interesting issues, as well. Interrogation is an essential part of the investigators’ work; therefore many relevant questions are presented in the book. Colourful tasks help initiate the topics and deepen the technical English lexis. The author wishes successful acquisition of ESP topics, the knowledge of the profession and technical English terms. I recommend the course book for students who tend to participate in Erasmus mobility and for those who incline to acquire the vocabulary and the gist of technical English issues.
